The manufacturing process primarily involves casting for larger components and forging for smaller ones. For larger-sized pulleys, casting is generally preferred due to the superior casting properties of cast iron, while cast steel is seldom used due to its inferior casting performance. Smaller-sized pulleys are often designed for forging, using steel as the material. Belt pulleys are extensively utilized in applications requiring long-distance power transmission, such as small diesel engines, farm vehicles, tractors, automobiles, mining machinery, mechanical processing equipment, textile machinery, packaging machinery, lathes, forging machines, small-horsepower motorcycles, agricultural machinery, air compressors, reducers, generators, and cotton gins.

Assembly Precautions:
1. Prior to assembly, a final cleaning with gasoline must be performed to ensure all components are clean and dry, ensuring tight mating surfaces free from oil contamination and providing sufficient friction.
2. Hexagon socket screws should also be cleaned with gasoline and dried before assembly. Lubricating oil or grease must not be applied to the screws or screw holes to ensure adequate frictional self-locking capability after tightening.
3. When installing the three hexagon socket screws, they should be tightened alternately to ensure uniform axial force on the conical sleeve, thereby ensuring proper coaxial alignment between the pulley and the conical sleeve.
4. Before installation, measure the length of the hexagon socket screws to ensure that, once tightened, they press against the bottom of the conical sleeve's blind hole, ensuring a tight fit of the conical surface and providing a reverse thrust similar to the anti-loosening effect of a double nut.
5. After tightening the belt pulley, use a string to check and adjust the relative positions of the driving and driven pulleys to ensure they are coplanar and that the belt is properly tensioned.
6. Ensure the belt pulley cover is intact and securely installed to prevent major safety incidents caused by belt breakage or pulley loosening during operation.
7. The conical sleeve is a wear-prone component. After prolonged operation, the inner hole and chain groove may become damaged. Inspect it before each assembly and replace any defective parts promptly.
