Working principle: Gear type oil pumps are widely used due to their reliable operation, simple structure, convenient manufacturing, and high pump oil pressure. [2]
When the engine is working, the driving gear on the camshaft drives the transmission gear of the oil pump, causing the driving gear fixed on the driving gear shaft to rotate, thereby driving the driven gear to rotate in the opposite direction, sending oil from the inlet chamber along the backlash and pump wall to the outlet chamber. In this way, a low pressure is formed at the oil inlet chamber to generate suction, which sucks the oil from the oil pan into the oil chamber. Due to the continuous rotation of the main and driven gears, the oil is continuously pressed to the desired location.
Fast fuel consumption
1. When excessive oil consumption is found, the generator manufacturer suggests first checking for oil leakage at the connections between the engine body and the gear compartment cover, the large plate on one side of the driving wheel, the rear cover, and the cover. If there is oil leakage, the generator manufacturer suggests paying attention to observing whether the sealing gaskets of each connection part are intact, and replacing the damaged sealing gaskets. If the sealing gasket is intact, the generator manufacturer suggests checking whether the connecting screws in each part are loose. Use a wrench to tighten the loose bolts to the specified torque. If the above parts are basically normal and the oil leakage is located in the frame position, the generator manufacturer suggests checking the oil shell. The main inspection area is at the front end of the oil shell side on the same side as the driving wheel. Due to loose screws in the machine base, the driving wheel will rub against the angle iron of the frame that protects the oil shell for a long time under the pulling of the triangular belt, which will grind through the oil shell and form a gap, resulting in oil leakage.
2. The generator manufacturer analyzes that normal wear caused by long-term use of the engine, or abnormal wear caused by improper maintenance, can cause longitudinal pulling marks on the cylinder liner of the diesel engine. The cylinder diameter and piston side clearance exceed the specified value, resulting in a corresponding reduction in the supporting force of the piston rings and unclean oil scraping. Or due to the internal support twisting spring inside the oil ring breaking at the opening position of the oil ring, the oil may not be wiped clean and participate in combustion, causing severe oil consumption symptoms, manifested as difficulty starting the diesel engine, obvious blue smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe, and severe fuel injection from the respirator. Generator production analysis: Furthermore, the side of the piston that should have been facing upwards, during assembly, causes the combustion chamber to form an inverted state due to the inverted direction. Although it will not affect the starting of the diesel engine, the oil loss will be quite serious, with a daily fuel consumption of about 0.5 kilograms.
3. Although it is rare for generator manufacturers to analyze that severe wear of valve guides can also burn diesel generator set oil, according to relevant information, it is also a reason that cannot be underestimated.
