Cummins Leverages Chinese Expertise to Accelerate Global Energy Transition
Recently, CCTV-2's "Economic Information Express" featured an in-depth report on Cummins' collaboration with Chinese partners to facilitate energy transition and jointly deliver clean power solutions to the global market.
As a global leader in power technology, Cummins recognized the immense potential of the Chinese market in the mid-to-late 1970s. In 1975, Cummins became the engine supplier for heavy-duty mining trucks imported by China National Heavy Machinery Import and Export Corporation, marking it as one of the earliest foreign enterprises to enter the Chinese market. With the rapid development of China's economy, Cummins seized strategic opportunities, signing successive licensing agreements with domestic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to authorize the production of diesel engine products. Cummins engines have since become the preferred power solution across various industries. Entering the 1990s, Cummins formed joint ventures with leading local enterprises, ushering in a new era of growth in China. To date, Cummins has established 37 entities in China, including 26 manufacturing facilities, with total investments exceeding one billion US dollars.
When the pointer of the synchronizing meter exhibits erratic movement, the circuit breaker must not be closed. This may indicate a malfunction within the synchronizing meter, which could result in inaccurate synchronization conditions. If the synchronizing meter rotates too rapidly, it signifies a significant frequency difference between the generator to be synchronized and the running generator. Given the difficulty in precisely controlling the closing time of the circuit breaker, this condition increases the risk of closing at a non-synchronous point. Therefore, closing the circuit breaker under these circumstances is prohibited.
If the pointer of the synchronizing meter remains stationary at the synchronous point, the circuit breaker should also not be closed. This precaution is necessary because any sudden change in the frequency of either generator during the closing process could result in the circuit breaker closing at a non-synchronous point, potentially leading to system instability or damage.
