Valve Clearance Adjustment
The specified valve clearances for the Cummins NT855 engine are as follows:

To adjust the valve clearance, use the feeler gauge provided in the Cummins designated toolset. The adjustment process involves the following steps:
1. **Top Dead Center (TDC) Alignment**:
- Rotate the crankshaft to align the timing mark at point A, ensuring that it corresponds to the TDC position of the compression stroke for cylinder 2.
- Confirm that cylinder 2 is at TDC by checking the position of its valves. Once confirmed, adjust the valve clearances for cylinder 2 using the 0 clearance method. This means adjusting the next cylinder (cylinder 4) immediately after completing the adjustments for cylinder 2.
2. **Adjustment Sequence**:
- After rotating the crankshaft 360 degrees, with the timing mark still at point A, adjust the valves for cylinder 2 and the fuel injector for cylinder 4. If the fuel injection timing is incorrect, rotate the engine another 360 degrees to ensure proper alignment.
- At point B, adjust the valves for cylinder 4 and the fuel injector for cylinder 1.
- At point C, adjust the valves for cylinder 1 and the fuel injector for cylinder 5.
Important Notes on Valve Adjustment
- Valve clearance can only be adjusted when the valves are fully closed. Ensure that the rocker arm rests on the base circle of the camshaft before making any adjustments.
- Do not adjust intake valves that are currently in the intake stroke, about to start the intake stroke, or have just completed the exhaust stroke.
Injector Adjustment
