Precautions for fuel system maintenance
Before disassembling the oil pipe, the pressure should be relieved first to prevent high pressure fuel from spraying out and causing a fire.
When installing oil pipe joints, for bolt type pipe joints, new gaskets must be used during installation. First, tighten the joint bolts by hand, and then use tools to tighten to the specified torque. For nut type pipe joints, it is important to apply a thin layer of lubricating oil to the bell mouth first, tighten it by hand, and then use tools to tighten the joint to the specified torque.
After removing the fuel injector, the O-ring cannot be reused. Before installing the fuel injector, lubricate the O-ring with gasoline. Be careful not to use engine oil, gear oil, or brake fluid. During installation, it is necessary to rotate left and right while installing, aligning and not tilting. Poor installation of the upper part or damage to the O-ring can cause oil leakage; Poor sealing at the bottom can cause air leakage.
After the maintenance of the fuel system, it is necessary to carefully check for any oil leaks. Turn on the ignition switch, the engine will not start, and use a jumper wire to connect the diagnostic seat FP and+B terminals (Toyota series) to force the fuel pump to operate. Clamp the return oil pipe, and the system oil pressure will rise to 400kP. Check for any oil leaks in the fuel system and confirm that there are no leaks before starting it officially. After starting, let the engine idle and carefully check for any oil leaks before closing the engine hood for normal operation.
