About the product

The fuel element rack is also known as the fuel element positioning grid and the elastic positioning grid. The elastic positioning grid is an extremely important component in fuel assemblies. It is made by inserting nickel based alloy strips with slots and brazing them together. At six support points in each fuel rod position, finger springs are used to apply clamping force to the fuel rods. They can clamp the fuel rods, maintain the necessary spacing, prevent lateral movement, and allow the fuel rods to slide in the axial direction, allowing them to expand freely in the axial direction to prevent bending due to thermal expansion. The material used for fuel element racks has now shifted from nickel based alloys to zirconium tin alloys.
