Boreton 135 ton mining truck released!

Nov 01, 2024

At the just concluded 2024 China International Mining Conference, Boreton unveiled two new products, including the previously announced BRT120E pure electric mining card and a 135EZ extended range mining card. BRT135EZ is a heavyweight new product of Boreton in 2024, with stronger loading capacity, which can help more large mines improve transportation efficiency and enhance the level of green mine construction.

1. Can be powered by electricity or oil

The BRT135EZ has a total design weight of 135 tons and is equipped with a mining truck specific electric motor assembly with a rated power of 620 kW and a peak power of 900 kW. It adopts an active liquid cooling design to fully meet the continuous heavy load uphill transportation needs.

The whole vehicle adopts a 724kW • h long-life battery pack, which fully utilizes the lunch break and shift change time for charging, can meet the pure electric operation needs of most scenarios, significantly reduce energy consumption costs, and improve economy. At the same time, the vehicle is designed with a diesel range extender to help users cope with continuous operational needs in extreme situations.

The BRT135EZ vehicle design is based on the Boreton pure electric architecture, inheriting Boreton's mature experience in the design and manufacturing of three electric systems. It enjoys the "Boreton standards" that have been fully validated by the market in terms of vehicle and three electric system lifespan, control strategy, thermal management, etc., ensuring the stability of the lifecycle and creating more benefits for users.

The mechanical components of BRT135EZ, such as the frame, carriage, chassis, and steering system, have been reinforced and designed based on the characteristics of large tonnage heavy-duty electric vehicles. The overall performance of the vehicle has been comprehensively enhanced, making it easier to cope with the challenges brought by heavy load conditions in mining areas.

The intelligent design of the core components of the BRT135EZ vehicle can achieve software defined performance, adapt different programs according to different working conditions, and find more suitable performance control strategies for each scenario to improve performance and energy consumption. At the same time, intelligent control systems can monitor the lifespan of parts, provide early warning of failed parts, and effectively ensure attendance rates.

Diesel power generation accounts for less than 10%

BRT135EZ has been operating continuously for several months at the customer's mining site for green production. The actual test results in September 2024 showed that the total power consumption of the vehicle was 28624 kW • h, of which only 2344 kW • h came from the range extender, accounting for less than 10%.

(BRT135EZ Extended Range Mining Card Charging)

This set of numbers illustrates from a factual perspective that the large battery pack equipped on BRT135EZ can achieve pure electric operation for most of the time, saving costs as much as possible. Since users have a pursuit of economy, as long as there are charging conditions, they will definitely create conditions that prioritize electricity as much as possible. This is true for plug-in hybrid extended range passenger cars, and commercial vehicles that are more cost sensitive will certainly adopt this principle - this is also the original intention of the BRT135EZ model design. The management, engineers, and service team of Boreton are always in contact with customers on the front line, fully exploring their real needs and integrating company resources to meet user needs.
