1. Optimal Load for Maximum Fuel Efficiency (Core Principle)

- Ideal fuel-efficient load range: 70%–80% of rated power

- Below 50% (light load): incomplete combustion, excessive carbon buildup, higher fuel consumption

- Above 90% (overload): increased fuel use, rapid overheating, engine damage

- Avoid prolonged idling with no load; idling for one hour consumes significant fuel-turn off when not in use

 

2. Routine Maintenance for Fuel Savings

- Regularly replace diesel filters, engine oil, and air filters

Clogged air filter → insufficient intake → poor combustion → higher fuel consumption

- Periodically inspect and calibrate fuel injectors; poor atomization directly increases fuel usage

- Check valve clearance and turbocharger boost pressure; abnormalities significantly raise fuel consumption

- Ensure proper radiator cooling; both excessively low and high coolant temperatures increase fuel consumption

 

3. Fuel Quality and Startup Habits for Efficiency

- Use only certified, standard-grade diesel; substandard diesel contains impurities, burns inefficiently, causes more carbon deposits, and increases fuel consumption

- In winter, use the appropriate grade of diesel; waxing at low temperatures can clog fuel lines and increase fuel usage

- After starting, idle for 3–5 minutes before applying load; running under heavy load immediately after cold start is extremely inefficient

- Avoid frequent starts and stops; repeated startups consume far more fuel than steady operation

 

4. Electrical Wiring and Power Usage Configuration

1. Reduce unnecessary high-power equipment to eliminate reactive power losses.

2. Keep three-phase loads as balanced as possible; unbalanced operation increases fuel consumption and damages the unit.

3. Use appropriately sized cables with secure connections, as excessive line losses also indirectly increase fuel consumption.

 

5. Environment and Placement

1. Ensure good ventilation and heat dissipation in the machine room; high temperature and humidity increase fuel consumption.

2. Keep away from dust and moisture to reduce unit resistance and prevent fault-related fuel consumption.

3. Insulate properly in winter and cool effectively in summer.
