When people think of super mines, many people think of the giant beasts that mine them.

For example, many people know that this type of bucket wheel excavator can reach a maximum weight of over 10000 tons, and there are even more than 40000 tons.

But what we are going to introduce today is an extremely rare steel giant. Without further ado, let's start with the diagram above

How could there be such an excavator? Earth chainsaw? Originally, this is called a chain bucket excavator.
Chain bucket excavator (BCE) is a heavy-duty equipment used for open-pit mining and dredging. Chain bucket excavators use buckets on rotating chains to remove large amounts of material. They are somewhat similar to bucket wheel excavators, but chain bucket excavators remove materials from below their motion plane, which is particularly suitable for long-term stable soil output.

The working principle of a chain bucket excavator is similar to that of a bucket wheel excavator, which uses a series of buckets to excavate materials, then pours them into the bucket chute and unloads them through the unloading arm.

The difference between the two is that the bucket is installed on a flexible chain similar to a chainsaw blade, rather than a rigid wheel.

Chain bucket excavators are mainly used to excavate materials below the upper structure of vehicles, while bucket wheel excavators are mainly used to excavate topsoil cover and/or resources.

Due to its downward working characteristics, although these excavators are relatively large in scale and 5000 ton level excavators are also common, there are generally no bucket wheel excavators or wire shovel excavators with a scale of more than 5000 tons. Well, due to technological development and the characteristics of coal mining, huge bucket wheel excavators and electric shovel excavators are used in China's coal mining process, but these chain bucket excavators are rare and almost non-existent. Why is it said to be the second in the world? Because it is said that there is a slightly larger model than it!
