On December 9, 2024, Caterpillar Inc. launched its third Global Robot Challenge, inviting thousands of pilots from around the world to compete in operational flexibility, resilience, and technical comprehensiveness using various engineering equipment and technologies. The more than 140 Cat dealer competitions held in the 2022-2023 season have attracted over 10000 participants from 32 countries and regions. Compared to previous seasons, the 2025-2026 season plans to hold more events and attract more players from more countries and regions to participate. Global pilots are invited to participate in the first round of local auditions organized by Cat dealers worldwide from January to September 2025. The auditions will require contestants to complete at least three different challenge projects on no less than three different devices. The scoring will be based on the contestant's skills, safety, efficiency, and proficiency in using integrated technologies that can improve equipment performance, such as Cat Payload weighing system, Cat Grade slope control, and EOU intelligent technology functions.
In the autumn of 2025, the winners of the local agent audition will advance to the regional semi-finals. In March 2026, 9 regional semifinals winners will participate in the finals held by Caterpillar at the outdoor "Operator Training Ground" of the CONEXPO exhibition in Las Vegas. The winner of the finals will receive a cash reward of $10000 or the opportunity to travel for two at any Caterpillar operating location worldwide at an equivalent value.
