On September 19, 2024, the annual summit of Cummins China's "Love Unlimited Core Power" disability inclusion project was held in Chongqing. At the summit, experts and scholars from organizations such as the Tsinghua University Institute of Public Welfare and Charity, the Department of Special Education at the School of Education Science, Chongqing Normal University, and the Public Welfare Times, as well as management teams and employee representatives from Cummins China and Chongqing Cummins, deeply discussed how to effectively promote mechanisms and practices for disability inclusion in enterprises and the broader social sphere.
Cummins launched the Global Disability Inclusion Program in 2018, continuously practicing a culture of diversity, fairness, and inclusivity, striving to make Cummins an excellent employer for people with disabilities, and working together to eliminate employment barriers for people with disabilities in the community.

Cummins is always in action, combining knowledge with action
As the leader of the disability inclusion project, Chai Yongquan, General Manager of Cummins China Parts Division, shared that in September 2023, Cummins released the "Cummins China Disability Inclusion Facility Inspection Checklist", which has become an important basis for guiding, evaluating, and improving accessible environments. According to the list, Cummins has completed the review of inclusive facilities in 10 locations, creating a more fair and smooth working environment for disabled employees. This year, Cummins continues to strengthen the renovation of accessible environments, launch innovative "hearing aid efficiency coil" projects, and promote Cummins to become the first industrial enterprise in China to deploy this advanced technology, further enhancing Cummins' diverse, equal, and inclusive culture (DEIC).

Promoting employment for people with disabilities is one of the important goals of Cummins' diversification strategy. Cummins China will continue to increase the recruitment of disabled employees in 2024 and has released the "Cummins China Disability Integration Manager Guide", providing practical guidance for the recruitment, onboarding, retention, and development process of disabled employees, allowing them to showcase their talents and achieve their career dreams in various positions at Cummins.
Not only that, Cummins also calls on nearly 13000 employees in China to actively participate in and organize internal and community barrier integration activities, helping more disabled employees learn new skills, experience the beauty of the world, and establish meaningful connections.
At the end of the sharing, Chai Yongquan pointed out, "Achieving equal social participation for people with disabilities is a long and arduous task. Cummins plans to achieve a 1.5% disabled employee ratio by 2025 and continue to promote the construction of barrier free environments. By 2027, it aims to achieve 100% coverage of barrier free facilities. Cummins will always lead by example, make obstacles become love, and add motivation to accessibility

Under the witness of the attending guests, Cummins' "National Demonstration Base for Disability Inclusion" project was officially unveiled, opening a new chapter for Cummins to practice disability inclusion. The first demonstration base has landed at Chongqing Cummins Engine Company, which not only recognizes Cummins' continuous efforts in the field of disability inclusion, but also represents Cummins' firm commitment to actively practicing the concept of disability inclusion and promoting social progress nationwide.

After the transmission and sharing of viewpoints, the attendees experienced the difficulties and strength of people with disabilities in their daily lives through activities such as wheelchair accessibility, blindfolded football, and silent cinemas in a joyful atmosphere, and deeply understood the true meaning of disability tolerance.
