On January 7, 2023, Huanghai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. successfully delivered the 1800 TEU container ship "SEATRADE COLOMBIA" to Seatrade, a leading maritime company based in the Netherlands.
This type of vessel features a total length of 172 meters, a width of 28.4 meters, a depth of 14.2 meters, a designed draught of 8.5 meters, and a maximum deadweight of approximately 24,000 tons. It is designed for a cruising speed of 18.7 knots. This feeder container ship meets the specific requirements of short-sea shipping routes, which has the characteristics of multiple port calls and frequent loading and unloading tasks.
The vessel is equipped with high-efficiency propellers, energy-saving twisted rudders, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, desulfurization towers, and 630 refrigerated containers.
Future vessels in this series will also be fitted with medium-voltage shore power systems (AMP) and deck cranes. This design results in a low-energy consumption, high-speed, and high-cargo efficiency vessel, embodying advanced energy-efficient and economical principles.
This project encompasses a series of 10 vessels, and this is the fourth vessel being successfully delivered on this occasion. On January 6, 2023, the sixth vessel in the series achieved the keel-laying milestone. To date, Huanghai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has secured orders for a total of 59 1800 TEU container ships and has delivered 35 of these vessels.
