On March 20th, GWM and Cummins officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Wei Jianjun, Chairman of GWM, and Wang Kaijun, Vice President of Cummins and General Manager of the Engine Division in China, attended the signing ceremony. Both parties will focus on the joint development and promotion of heavy-duty truck hybrid dedicated power chains, accelerating the process of reducing carbon emissions in commercial vehicles.
01 Jointly establish a new benchmark for energy conservation and emission reduction in long-distance trunk logistics transportation

As a global pioneer in power technology, Cummins engines have always been renowned in the industry for their excellent reliability, power performance, and fuel economy. With 50 years of deep cultivation in the Chinese market, Cummins has become one of the important power choices in the Chinese commercial vehicle market due to its technological leadership, local adaptability, and excellent product performance. Especially in the express delivery industry that emphasizes cost control and transportation efficiency, Cummins power solutions have become the preferred solution in the industry.
Cummins is committed to promoting the achievement of zero carbon goals, providing customers with a wide range of power options in the process of carbon reduction and zero carbon transformation through cutting-edge technologies such as multi-fuel engine platforms, hybrid power, and fuel cells. In this collaboration, Cummins and GWM have reached a consensus to fully leverage their respective technological advantages, focusing on the innovative features of the GWM commercial vehicle Hi4-G super intelligent hybrid system. Through technological collaboration and deep co creation, the hybrid technology will jointly shape the industry benchmark for long-distance logistics transportation, bringing a new solution for energy conservation, emission reduction, cost reduction and efficiency improvement to the express delivery industry.
02 Promote new breakthroughs in hybrid technology in the heavy truck industry
GWM's hybrid technology has always been based on its full stack self-developed capabilities, and has built a technology matrix covering all categories of vehicles through framework innovation, scenario adaptation, and intelligent control. Its Hi4-G super intelligent hybrid system breaks the homogenization dilemma of P2 framework in hybrid heavy-duty trucks, and opens up a new idea with differentiated P2+P2.5 dual motor configuration. This system is the first to be equipped with a commercial vehicle 8-speed DHT transmission and a fully developed 9-in-1 power domain controller, combined with a customized and tuned Cummins high-thermal efficiency engine, demonstrating excellent fuel saving performance.

According to actual user operation tests in the early stage, the fuel saving rate of GWM hybrid heavy-duty trucks has reached 15% -25%. After cooperation, both parties will continue to optimize the current power solution around the GWM Hi4-G super intelligent hybrid system, and jointly polish the hybrid dedicated engine, to promote the innovative development of hybrid technology and helping long-distance trunk logistics reduce costs and increase efficiency. After signing the contract, new hybrid technology solutions and products will also be released one after another.
This cooperation is not only a strong alliance of technological strength between the two sides, but also an important milestone for China's commercial vehicle industry to move towards to low carbonization and intelligence. Through complementary advantages and deep cocreation, GWM and Cummins will jointly lead the innovative development of heavy-duty truck hybrid technology, contribute to the achievement of the dual carbon reduction goal, and promote the Chinese commercial vehicle industry towards a more efficient and cleaner future.
