On June 29, Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, jointly with China State Shipbuilding Corporation Trading Co., Ltd., delivered the first vessel of the 10,800-car dual-fuel powered car carrier series for Seaspan Corporation-named "GLOVIS LANDER"-six months ahead of the contract delivery date.

The vessel has an overall length of 230 meters, a beam of 40 meters, and a designed draft of 10.5 meters, with a design speed of 19 knots. It is equipped with a dual-fuel propulsion system using liquefied natural gas (LNG) and fuel oil, meeting the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Tier III emission standards. The ship features environmental protection, energy efficiency, high performance, safety, and reliability. It is classed by DNV and Korea Register of Shipping (KR), enabling global unrestricted navigation. The vessel includes 14 garage decks capable of flexibly loading various vehicle types such as electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered vehicles, and heavy-duty trucks, with a maximum capacity of up to 10,800 vehicles per voyage.

The vessel incorporates a more advanced intelligent ship management system. First, the garage now features the Captain Eye intelligent visual security system, enabling real-time AI alerts and full-area surveillance. Second, a 360-degree panoramic surround system and ORCA-AI have been added to eliminate blind spots during navigation, enhancing safety in berthing, cruising, and regulatory operations. Third, the new R6 navigation system provides anti-interference capabilities, ensuring more precise and stable vessel positioning. With these three intelligent control systems integrated, the vessel's long-distance transportation safety is comprehensively strengthened.

In the first half of 2026, Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. set multiple new records for the same period in history, achieving a significant leap in business performance.

The company has achieved significant progress in expanding its core shipbuilding business. Leveraging its mature vessel design matrix, it has seized global shipping opportunities, securing over 30 oil tanker orders in the first half of the year. By innovatively establishing a direct collaboration model between shipyards and charterers, it has significantly enhanced its pricing power in overseas markets. The company has precisely targeted high-end niche markets, winning new orders for eight Suezmax crude tankers and two premium passenger-vehicle ferries. Currently, Guangzhou Shipyard International's backlogged order value exceeds 100 billion yuan, with international orders accounting for over 95%, and production schedules extending through 2030.
