According to the latest EDA equipment financing data from Fusable, new financing bulldozer sales rebounded in 2024 after a decline in 2023. From December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2024, buyers financed the purchase of 4,938 new bulldozers, representing a 6.2% increase compared to the previous year. Caterpillar (Cat), Komatsu, and John Deere continued to hold the top three positions in new financing bulldozer sales, with Caterpillar's market share increasing by nearly 3%. Based on the number of financing units, the most popular new models included:

Caterpillar D5 VP - 367 units
Caterpillar D3 LGP - 355 units
John Deere 700L - 283 units
Komatsu D51PXI-24 - 235 units
Texas was the region with the most new financing bulldozer buyers, with 832 units sold. Florida (386 units) and Georgia (370 units) also had active buyers.
The sales of second-hand financing bulldozers performed poorly, with a 4.5% decline from December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2024, with 7,799 units sold. Caterpillar, John Deere, and Komatsu still dominated the second-hand sales, maintaining the top three positions. The most popular second-hand models included:

Texas buyers once again led in second-hand equipment financing, with 1,078 units sold. Oklahoma sold 499 units, followed closely by Mississippi with 476 units.

Second-hand Bulldozer Sales
According to EquipmentWatch market trend data from Fusable, the prices of second-hand bulldozers rose over the 12-month period from December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2024.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the average price of second-hand bulldozers was $234,126, while in the fourth quarter of 2024, the average price rose to $267,739. During this period, the average age of second-hand bulldozers slightly decreased from 9.7 years to 9.1 years. The average age and price were calculated based on 120,247 resale listings in the EquipmentWatch database.
Over the past five years, the average price of second-hand bulldozers has generally shown an upward trend, reaching its peak in the fourth quarter of 2024.

In the 12-month period from December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2024, all of the top 20 bulldozers by auction price were Caterpillar (Cat) models, demonstrating an extremely strong performance.
According to the EquipmentWatch Auction Price Guide, the highest-priced bulldozer during this period was a Caterpillar D8T with only 19 hours of use, which sold for $750,000 at an ATM Auctions sale in Monroe, North Carolina on September 21, 2024.
