Product Introduction Inspection before turbocharger assembly
After the cleaning work is completed, all parts and components should be carefully inspected, and the main parts should be inspected as follows:
(1) Turbine shell: Check whether there are cracks at the inlet end of the turbine shell, and whether there is deformation or burning damage at the inlet and outlet. If there are cracks, deformation, burning damage, severe corrosion, etc., they should be replaced with new ones.
(2) Intermediate shell: Check for any signs of friction and carbon accumulation on the surface adjacent to the back of the compressor impeller and the back of the turbine impeller. Check the size of the center hole of the intermediate body. If there is any friction or damage to the surface of the center inner hole, it is necessary to use a corresponding grinding rod to grind and repair the inner hole. If the wear exceeds the limit size specified in the technical conditions, the intermediate housing should be replaced.
(3) Rotor assembly: The rotor assembly consists of a turbine and shaft assembly, compressor impeller, locking nut, sealing ring support, thrust ring, and thrust plate. It is a precision balance assembly. If any of the parts exceeds the limit size required by the drawing, they must be scrapped and replaced with new parts.
(4) Compressor impeller: If there are cracks, fractures, and friction with the compressor casing on the blades, they cannot be used anymore. If a new compressor impeller is used, it is required to recheck the dynamic balance of the rotor assembly.
(5) Turbine and shaft assembly: When touching the working surface of the rotor shaft neck with your fingers, there should be no obvious grooves. If the wear on the working surface of the shaft neck exceeds the limit size specified in the technical conditions, it should not be used again. Check the wear of the sealing ring groove. If the wear is severe, do not continue to use. If there is slight wear, polish the sealing ring groove with a cloth before use; Check for cracks in the turbine blades, and do not continue to use if there are cracks.
(6) Floating bearing: Check the wear of the floating ring end face and inner and outer surfaces. If the surface scratches are severe or exceed the wear limit after measurement, it is recommended to replace the floating ring with a new one.
(7) Compressor casing: When there is a deep scratch on the inlet of the pressure boosting surface of the compressor casing, it cannot be used again. If there are light scratches, they can be polished with a fine sandcloth before continuing to use. If there are cracks or deformations, they should be scrapped.
