About the product

A supercharger is a device utilized in piston aircraft engines to enhance the pressure of the air entering the cylinders. Prior to entering the engine cylinders, the air is compressed by the supercharger to increase its density, thereby allowing a greater volume of air to fill the cylinders and consequently increasing the engine's power output. Engines equipped with superchargers not only deliver higher takeoff power but also improve altitude performance.
Superchargers for automobiles: Supercharging technology involves compressing air before it enters the cylinders to increase air density and intake volume. The primary objectives are to boost charge volume, enhance power output, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce emissions.

 

Precautions:
Since turbochargers frequently operate under high-speed and high-temperature conditions, with exhaust turbine temperatures reaching 700-900°C and rotor speeds exceeding tens of thousands to over two hundred thousand revolutions per minute, it is crucial to observe the following precautions to ensure proper turbocharger operation:
1. Avoid Immediate Acceleration After Starting: After starting the engine, especially in cold weather, allow it to idle for a few minutes to ensure adequate lubrication of the turbocharger bearings before the rotor begins high-speed rotation. Do not abruptly accelerate immediately after starting to prevent damage to the turbocharger oil seal.
2. Do Not Shut Off the Engine Immediately After High-Speed Operation: After prolonged high-speed operation, do not shut off the engine immediately. While running, the engine supplies oil to the turbocharger rotor bearings for lubrication and cooling. If the engine is suddenly stopped while still hot, the oil pressure drops rapidly to zero, and the heat from the turbocharger turbine cannot be quickly dissipated. Simultaneously, the turbocharger rotor continues to spin at high speed due to inertia. Therefore, sudden shutdown can cause overheating of the residual oil within the turbocharger, leading to bearing and shaft damage. It is particularly important to avoid revving the engine hard and then shutting it off abruptly.
3. Maintain Cleanliness During Maintenance: When disassembling the turbocharger, maintain cleanliness to prevent debris from entering and damaging the rotor. All pipe connections should be sealed with clean cloth. During maintenance, exercise caution to avoid damaging the impeller. If the impeller needs replacement, conduct a dynamic balance test. After reassembly, remove all blocking materials.
