The wiring of sensors has always been one of the most frequently consulted questions during the customer procurement process. Many customers do not know how to connect sensors. In fact, the wiring methods of various sensors are basically the same. Pressure sensors generally have two wire, three wire, four wire systems, and some even five wire systems.

The two wire system for pressure sensors is relatively simple, and most customers know how to wire it. One wire is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, and the other wire, which is the signal wire, is connected to the negative pole of the power supply through the instrument. This is the simplest method. The three wire system for pressure sensors adds a wire on top of the two wire system, which is directly connected to the negative pole of the power supply. It is a bit more complicated than the two wire system. The four wire pressure sensor definitely has two power input terminals, and the other two are signal output terminals. The four wire system is mostly used for voltage output rather than 4-20mA output. 4-20mA is called a pressure transmitter, and most of them are made into two wire systems. The signal output of pressure sensors is not amplified, with a full range output of only a few tens of millivolts, while some pressure sensors have amplification circuits inside, with a full range output of 0-2V. As for how to connect to the display instrument, it depends on the range of the instrument. If there is a gear that matches the output signal, it can be directly measured. Otherwise, a signal adjustment circuit needs to be added. The difference between the five wire pressure sensor and the four wire system is not significant, and there are also relatively few five wire sensors on the market.
