Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced the first batch of outstanding-level intelligent factories. Zoomlion's "Digital Full-process Management Intelligent Factory for Excavators" has been successfully selected, highlighting the company's leadership and innovation capabilities in intelligent manufacturing.
Outstanding-level intelligent factories are jointly recognized by MIIT, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), and the National Data Bureau as facilities that represent domestic excellence in intelligent manufacturing. Selected enterprises demonstrate leading capabilities in several key areas: enhancing continuous optimization through digitalization and networking; systematic deployment of intelligent manufacturing equipment, industrial software, and systems tailored to typical smart manufacturing scenarios; achieving seamless integration of design, production, and operational data; intelligent control of manufacturing equipment; real-time optimization of production processes; comprehensive optimization across the entire product lifecycle and supply chain; and promoting multi-scenario system-level intelligent applications.
Zoomlion's "Digital Full-process Management Intelligent Factory for Excavators" encompasses six core production procedures: blanking, welding, machining, painting, assembly, and commissioning. This facility is the world's only base that achieves full-process intelligent manufacturing of excavators, with an average production rate of one excavator every six minutes.
The intelligent factory has been meticulously planned and constructed with a total of 60 highly flexible smart production lines, incorporating over 360 automated logistics AGVs and more than 240 industrial robots. It integrates 11 advanced information systems, seamlessly merging artificial intelligence, industrial internet, intelligent manufacturing technologies, and smart equipment. This integration addresses the industry-wide challenge of achieving full-process flexible intelligent manufacturing for excavators, marking a fundamental breakthrough in production methodologies. The facility stands as the most intelligent, flexible, and precise assembly plant in the industry, featuring unmanned "dark factory lines" that operate at an internationally leading level of process sophistication.
According to a senior executive from Zoomlion's excavator intelligent factory: "Our intelligent factory has established a comprehensive, industry-leading full-process smart production line. We have innovatively developed a suite of intelligent control algorithms and digital systems to achieve flexibility, efficiency, and coordination in production. Additionally, we have successfully overcome 77 key technological challenges, including complex bevel processing, 'dark factory' technology, intelligent warehousing, and aerial logistics, all of which have been integrated into our smart production lines. To date, we have filed over 200 patents related to these production line innovations."
