Recently, XCMG held a grand new product appreciation event for its XE650GK HEV hybrid mining excavator in Guiyang. During the event, XCMG signed cooperation agreements with strategic customers in the Southwest region. Over 100 large-tonnage excavators equipped with Cummins heavy-duty engines will be delivered to customers sequentially. These include the XE650GK HEV featuring Cummins' 563-kilowatt QSM15 high-power engine, as well as 70-ton and 75-ton excavators, and 60-ton excavators powered by Cummins' QSX12 engines. Attending the event were over 200 guests, including Song Zhike, Vice President of XCMG, General Manager and Party Secretary of the Excavator Division; Zhu Lin, President of the Guizhou Mining Association; major customer representatives; and partners from the upstream and downstream segments of the industrial chain, along with dealers.

As an integral part of XCMG's industrial chain, Cummins has enabled XCMG excavators to achieve a high-quality "strong start" for the new journey in 2025. The XE650GK HEV is the world's first hybrid mining excavator launched by XCMG, equipped with Cummins' QSM15 high-power engine. This model exemplifies outstanding economic value and ecological benefits, representing another significant achievement resulting from the deep collaboration and joint R&D efforts between Cummins, XCMG, and other enterprises within the industrial chain.

Since its market debut, the XE650GK HEV has undergone extensive testing across various regions. It has been deployed at mining sites ranging from the northern plateau to the western Sichuan hinterland, from the mountains of Guizhou to the land of Guangxi. Demonstrating high productivity, energy efficiency, and reliability, it fully meets the demands of large-scale and high-intensity green mining operations.
The Cummins QSM15 engine incorporates advanced technologies such as high in-cylinder pressure, ultra-high-pressure fuel injection systems, and intelligent thermal management, setting a new benchmark for high efficiency and fuel economy. Through collaborative development with XCMG excavators, this engine has achieved deep optimization and integration, allowing the advantages of both traditional fuel power and new energy technology to be fully realized, creating a pioneering demonstration scenario for hybrid mining equipment.
Compared to similar fuel-powered equipment, the XE650GK HEV can save between 200,000 and 300,000 yuan in annual fuel costs, offering a significant TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) advantage. This results in substantial productivity returns, enabling "increased excavation and mining, cost reduction, and income growth" for customers. It exemplifies how Cummins' power solutions assist XCMG products in achieving high productivity, energy efficiency, and reliability.
