According to the Izvestia newspaper, Mikhail Komarov, General Manager of the ID20 fleet management automation project, forecasted that if gasoline and diesel prices continue their current upward trend observed over the past three months, they could rise by 7-10% by mid-2025.
Experts have analyzed data from 2022 to 2024, with a particular focus on fuel market dynamics between October 2024 and early January 2025. Based on this analysis, it is projected that fuel prices will increase by 1-2% by the end of February compared to current levels. Specifically, the average monthly price for 95-octane gasoline is expected to reach 63-64 rubles per liter, while diesel prices are anticipated to be in the range of 70.6-71.5 rubles per liter.
Komarov emphasized that rising fuel prices would have the most significant impact on businesses, as their transportation costs typically exceed those of individual vehicle owners. Data indicates that from November 2024 to January 2025, gasoline prices steadily increased from 60.3 rubles per liter to 62.2 rubles per liter, representing an average monthly growth rate of 1%. Similarly, diesel prices also rose at a monthly rate of 1%, increasing from 67.5 rubles per liter in November 2024 to over 69 rubles per liter by early 2025.
