In recent years, China has made significant progress in the intelligent construction of mines. In terms of technological innovation, five key laboratories related to mine intelligence have been approved for construction by the National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, and breakthroughs have been made in the research and development of a number of key technical equipment. In terms of standard leadership, the release of the Intelligent Mining Standard System Framework and the Intelligent Mining Data Fusion and Sharing Specification has broken the data island. In terms of policy incentives, we will promote support for coal mine capacity increase, safety production standardization, and central budget investment, and include intelligent equipment in the scope of large-scale equipment update support.

 

According to Huang Jinsheng, a member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Management and Director of the National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, as of September 2024, there are 1642 intelligent mining working faces and 859 coal mines with intelligent working faces in China. More than 30 types of 2640 robots and 1328 unmanned vehicles have been promoted and applied, and 17000 fixed positions have achieved unmanned operation.

With the deepening of mining intelligence construction, mining intelligence construction is expected to reach a new level. Liu Tao, Director of the Coal Department of the National Energy Administration, stated that efforts will be made to accelerate the iteration and upgrading of coal mine intelligence, with a focus on promoting the intelligent transformation of large coal mines and coal mines with severe disasters. We will continue to organize pilot demonstrations of coal mine intelligence construction, improve the level of normal operation, and strive to achieve basic intelligence in large coal mines by the end of 2025.

 

The 2024 Blue Book on Intelligent Mines and Autonomous Driving Industry released by China University of Mining and Technology shows that China's intelligent mines contain a trillion-yuan market space. It is expected that by 2030, the market space for intelligent coal mines in China will reach 1.4105 trillion yuan, and the intelligent market size for non-coal mines is expected to reach 910.7 billion yuan. The combined market space of the two will exceed 2.3 trillion yuan.

Although the intelligent construction of mines in our country is flourishing, there are still problems such as uneven, insufficient, and uncoordinated development, and there is still a certain distance to truly achieve comprehensive intelligent mining.

The safety production management mode and technological level of enterprises are the prerequisite for the construction of intelligent mines, and financial logic is the most fundamental influencing factor. Xu Ming believes that the key to promoting the high-quality development of the mining industry is not only new equipment and new technology, but more importantly, the formation of a standardized and efficient management system. The construction of intelligent mines should also be closely integrated with later operation and maintenance, otherwise there will be a situation where there are patients but no doctors, which is precisely the core point of current intelligent mine construction. The breakthrough point lies in the fact that enterprises cultivate their own doctors to solve these problems and provide optimization and improvement suggestions for system construction.

 

 

Yuan Liang, an academician of the CAE Member and president of Anhui University of Science and Technology, suggested deploying the 5G special network for mining and intrinsically safe optical fiber sensing system to ensure the efficiency and safety of deep well communication and data monitoring. At the same time, establish an Internet platform for mining industry, unify the data middle ground, open up equipment data flow, optimize energy efficiency by using digital twin technology, and realize intelligent management of the whole chain of mining, excavation, transportation, and washing.
