On August 9, 2024, according to the unified arrangement of the Office of Science and Technology Awards for the Machinery Industry, the Engineering Machinery Professional Group organized a scientific and technological achievement project review meeting in Xi'an, Shaanxi. Director Wen Shunru and Director Mei Yi of the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards Office attended the meeting to provide guidance. The meeting was chaired by Su Zimeng, the leader of the engineering machinery professional evaluation group and the president of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, as well as Xu Gening, the deputy leader of the evaluation group and former vice president of Taiyuan University of Science and Technology. 19 evaluation experts from the Construction Machinery Industry Association, professional universities, research institutes, and leading backbone enterprises in the industry participated in the evaluation work.

In 2024, the construction machinery industry actively implements industrial foundation reconstruction projects and major technological equipment research projects. Industry enterprises continue to accelerate the construction of scientific and technological innovation capabilities, increase scientific research investment, accelerate digital transformation, intelligent upgrading, and green development. Key technologies continue to make breakthroughs, new technologies are widely applied, and a large number of innovative scientific and technological achievements have reached or approached the international advanced and world leading levels.
This year, nearly a hundred engineering machinery industry enterprises and professional universities independently or jointly submitted 59 scientific and technological achievements, involving key technologies and intelligent control technologies for engineering lifting machinery, piling machinery, high-altitude operation machinery, excavation machinery, tunneling machinery, road machinery, engineering building materials products machinery, industrial vehicles, shovel transport machinery, engineering transportation machinery, rock drilling machinery, core components, etc. The declared project presents characteristics such as multiple innovative points, high technological content, significant social and economic benefits. After organizing experts for online evaluation by the reward office, 41 scientific and technological achievements were determined to enter the professional group evaluation.
At the review meeting of the professional group, the participating judges carried out the project review from the multi-dimensional aspects of technical progressiveness, technical difficulty, economic and social benefits, and the promotion of the industry. After a rigorous and meticulous review throughout the day, the established evaluation work was successfully completed, and a total of 23 award-winning projects were recommended.
According to the evaluation rules of the Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award, the winning projects recommended by the professional group for initial review will be submitted to the Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award Evaluation Committee for final review. After the final review, they will be publicly announced on the websites of the Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award, China Machinery Industry Federation, China Society of Mechanical Engineering, and relevant media for a period of 20 days. The final winning projects will be commended and awarded certificates by the award office.
