Power Parameters of Diesel Genset

May 14, 2025

1. Continuous power (COP): Under agreed operating conditions and in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations for maintenance, the genset continues to operate at a constant load and the maximum number of operating hours per year is unlimited.

2. Basic power (PRP): Under agreed operating conditions and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations, the maximum power at which the genset operates continuously at a variable load and the number of operating hours per year is not limited. The average power output (PPP) of the operation during the 24h operation period shall not exceed 70% of the PRP, unless otherwise agreed with the RIC engine manufacturer. In applications where the allowable average power output PPP is higher than the specified value, continuous power COP should be used.

3. Time limit operation power (LTP): Under the agreed operating conditions and in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations for maintenance, the generator set can run up to a maximum power of 500 hours per year. According to 100% limited-time operating power, the maximum operating time per year is 500h.

4. Emergency Standby Power (ESP): Under the agreed operating conditions and the manufacturer's requirements for maintenance, once the mains power is interrupted or under experimental conditions, the genset is operated at variable load and the maximum power that the annual operating time can reach 200h. The allowable average power output in a 24h operating period should not exceed 70% ESP, unless otherwise agreed with the manufacturer. The standard also stipulates the on-site conditions for the operation of genset: the on-site conditions are determined by the user. When the on-site conditions are unknown and not otherwise specified, the following rated on-site conditions shall be adopted.

1)Absolute atmospheric pressure: 89.9kPa (or 1000m above sea level).

2)Ambient temperature: 40°C.

3)Relative humidity: 60%.
